The Past Week

Sister got to come in and see you this week. This is not the first time of course, we briefly allowed her in a couple of weeks ago to visit. The newness of all of this is this time she got to touch you for the first time! We were a little apprehensive about her doing so, but Nurse Floyd walked by and asked the questions that were on our minds, “ Has she (Faith) touched her? Why not?” He then picked her up and showed her where to put her hands on your soft little head and tiny right-hand.

Immediately afterwards, She pronounced to all who would listen, “That’s my sister! I LOVE HER!”

When then read both of you some books, wished you sweet dreams and went home to do the same with your loving sister.

On Saturday, our foreign family friends stopped in to see you. The Coronel’s flew all the way from Germany to get a look at you! Well…maybe that’s not entirely true. I heard something about a wedding as well, but the way your papa remembers it was that they flew half way around the world to see you...and really who wouldn’t? Sadly enough your Papa had to work so he couldn’t be there to visit our old friends, but Mama said that they were happy to see you and Edmund prayed over you. Also, they told us that their church back in Germany is praying for you! It’s nice to know that saints the world over are lifting you up in prayer.

On another note… you now weigh 2 lbs. 6 oz. which is some good weight gain. You have also grown 2 cm in length and your head grew 1 cm. The current worry is getting you off the ventilator. For the time being you are very dependent on it to breathe, but at the same time it is damaging your lungs.
